Wiki is originally a Hawiian word meaning "fast". When Ward Cunningham first developed wiki-wiki-web he thought the name to be more clever then "quick web".
A wiki is a collaborative website that allows the user(s) to add and edit content. The difference between a wiki and a personal website, however, is that not only the creator can add and edit the content. Everyone who views or everyone who is a part of the wiki has the privilege to alter the content. Thus resulting in a site that is constantly changing.
